Minneapolis hardcore crust punk at it's most tough and brutal. This band started originally with Chad of Calloused on Drums, Link of Pontious Pilate on bass, Big Rick of Code 13, Rat Bastards, Dead Drunk, Motherfuckers, Impulse Manslaughter etc. on guitar and Andy Hefner on vocals. They recorded a 7" for Sin Fronteras and a split ep with Minneapolis metallic crust core band Provoked. The main influence here is Poison Idea and when you spin this sucker you will Feel the Darkness. But it's hard to really nail these guys down as punk, hardcore or crust since their style really draws on elements prevalent in all three subgenres for maximum impact. RM 15 ///USD 5

Brother Inferior/N.O.T.A split 7" (Havoc Rec)SOLD OUT
Anyone who knows me is aware that I don't really care for split records (despite the fact Destroy was on two) but this split was sort of a natural. Tulsa Oklahoma has produced two excellent hardcore punk bands in the last 20 years and here they are on one record. None of the Above were one of my favorite bands in the 80's powerful hardcore that was very catchy and lyrics any working class punk kid could relate to first hand. The songs here show a more matured NOTA
who have mellowed somewhat but still are very catchy. NOTA put out an LP on Rabid Cat around '84 that is a hardcore classic. There was also the Moscow 7" and Toy Soldiers 7" from the same time period. NOTA's reunion period saw the release of this 7" as well as the HellHole EP and Give 'Em Enough Dope CD, which includes a killer live set. Prank Records also re issued the Live at the Crystal Pistol cassette on vinyl NOTA have since broken up again. It's most
unfortunate the the 1985 LP and both original 7"s are still out of print due to contractual reasons. NOTA is one of the very best bands of the 80's and I will put cash money on the table any day to re issue these classic gems. Until then, dub or download the 1985 LP if you can, crucial!Brother Inferior caught my attention with their Blasphemy and Treason and Bound and Gagged EP's both on their own Sensual Underground Ministries label. Brother Inferior play hardcore punk which is powerful and melodic reminding me of old Youth Brigade and other classic Cali bands of the early 80's. I hate to categorize them though because their sound is their own and you can hear the thrash and street punk influences present in their music as well. Brother Inferior released their own LP on Sensual Underground and it has sold very well. Brother Inferior toured Europe in 1999 and released a tour 7" as well as a split 7" with Whorehouse of Representatives and the outstanding "Six More Reasons" 7". Brother Inferior broke up in 2000. Chad sang and and played guitar in Assembly of God and the Leveling.

I actually like it a bit better than some of Agathocles' back catalog. When I flipped over to the Unholy Grave side, I was greeted with a cold slab of power electronics. I tried listening closely, trying to find the Unholy Grave I knew. And then the intro faded. Unholy Grave

Minneapolis hardcore crust punk at it's most tough and brutal. This band started originally with Chad of Calloused on Drums, Link of Pontious Pilate on bass, Big Rick of Code 13, Rat Bastards, Dead Drunk, Motherfuckers, Impulse Manslaughter etc. on guitar and Andy Hefner on vocals. They recorded a 7" for Sin Fronteras and a split ep with Minneapolis metallic crust core band Provoked. The main influence here is Poison Idea and when you spin this sucker you will Feel the Darkness. Upstab - w/ report 7" - [Way back when / Even worse rec.]
If you don't know, this is another one of those cleveland punk bands in the tradition of 9 Shocks, GSMF, H-100s, etc. (and featuring members of some of those). Snotty, Violent, pre-Deathside japanese style hc via '82 touch n go USHC, if that means anything. I dunno, it's good. If you already hate this scene this will probably just fuel your fire, but if you're real then you probably know these guys are part of one of the last bright spots on a seemingly dimming horizon. This five-piece could astound black metal, doom, and noise artists alike by their originality. Argentinum Astrum push boundaries past mundane song structures. It's surprising how much variation they can fit in one track. Their best exists within the first five minutes. Feet march drunkenly. Feedback lingers before chords strike and drums crash. Before the riffs resume, feet stumble in a wave of warped oscillation. This riff-noise combination deceives four times, each one sounding as if the track will die. The band then muscles past these obstacles and continues with low-tuned, funeral doom. Meanwhile, Andrew Morrill's shrieking scream sounds like it could devour a small child.Their vigor doesn't stop there. From noise to doom, Argentinum Astrum conquer black metal after nine minutes. UK peace-punk-influenced hardcore from Malmo, Sweden, firing a litany of political attacks against patriarchy, poverty and consumerism. From these vocal diatribes and tribal patterns, the songs burst into noisy, blasting, full-throttle crust thrash more common to Sweden with high-speed, standard issue screeched/shouted vocal trade-offs. "Witch falls distinctly in the stoner rock category. Take “Seer,” for instance. The central riff is one of those classics from the ‘70s – full of fuzzy tone, a Sabbathy groove that’s pretty much timeless, ethereal vocals (think Dead Meadow but less shrill), and an outro that has the perfect amount of build up and release (wait for that bass line to kick in). It’s stoner rock in all of its shaggy, head shaking glory. There’s a strong undercurrent of psychedelia underneath the lumbering, doomy riffs. This hits all the right spots. It's a familiar sound, but it still has a distinct identity. Recommended."

Always Last "Antidote" CD [Nervhouse records]
Always Last is a melodic punk rock band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The band took its form in late 2007. The band consists of different individuals who used to play or still playing in different bands. Tobek (previously in Fags & Stoned), Bulat (Part Time Lovers/Galaga/Hi-Score), Min (Skunkfix/Naratu/Thy Regimen) and Shah (The Mindless Show/Disgruntled).

This is their debut full length album with 15 tracks recorded. Good sound engineering thrown here. And it par beyond compare to other bands from Malaysia.
Antidote will not dissapointed you. Pop//melodic punk in more to American way. They have powerful and intense live set too.
